AI Exposure Across All 50 Programs
AI content now varies dramatically across technology-management degrees. MSITM.com classifies AI Exposure from the current published curriculum; it is an editorial curriculum measure, not a university-supplied label and not an overall program ranking.
| AI Exposure | Programs | How MSITM.com interprets it |
|---|---|---|
| Very High | 11 of 50 | AI is central to the degree or multiple required/core courses materially focus on AI, ML or GenAI. |
| High | 33 of 50 | Substantial AI/ML content, concentration options or broad integration, but AI does not fully define the degree. |
| Moderate | 5 of 50 | Meaningful AI/ML options exist, but the required curriculum remains more traditional. |
| Limited / Specialized | 1 of 50 | AI appears in a narrower specialized context rather than defining the overall degree. |

AI-native is not the same as “most technical”
Four programs in the database are explicitly classified as AI-native by program type: UT Austin, Maryland Smith, USF AI in Business and UGA MS Business & Artificial Intelligence. But even those differ in emphasis. USF’s Enterprise Integration path is much more build/deploy oriented than its Digital Transformation path, while other “High” programs can offer technically deep ML/data electives without putting AI in the degree name.
What to inspect beyond the label
- How much AI/ML coursework is required rather than elective?
- Do students code, train/evaluate models or deploy systems—or mainly discuss strategy/use cases?
- Are data engineering, databases, APIs and cloud foundations present?
- Does the curriculum include GenAI, RAG, agents or other current architectures?
- Are responsible AI, governance, privacy and security covered?
- Is there an applied AI capstone, practicum or client project?
