MSITM.com Program Data Coverage

How Complete Is the MSITM.com Program Database?

MSITM.com currently maintains 50 standardized program profiles. This page shows how much of the core comparison dataset has been researched and made visible in those profiles. Coverage is not the same as comparability: a school may publish a tuition rate instead of a fixed program total, or employer examples instead of a cohort placement report. MSITM.com preserves those differences rather than forcing every field into the same format.

Comparison field Current profile coverage What counts as covered
Cost / tuition 50 of 50 A current program total, per-credit/term rate, official estimator, or an explicit explanation of how the university prices the program.
Career evidence / context 50 of 50 Cohort outcomes, alumni-market data, graduate earnings, school-level outcomes, employer/role evidence, labor-market context, or an explicit note that a new program does not yet have mature outcomes.
Application deadlines / timing 50 of 50 A current deadline, priority date, rolling-admission window, recommended application window, or clearly scoped term-specific timing.
Preparation / prerequisites 50 of 50 Published technical/quantitative prerequisites, foundation or bridge requirements, undergraduate-background expectations, or an explicit explanation of the preparation the school does—or does not—require.
AI Exposure classification 50 of 50 11 Very High, 33 High, 5 Moderate and 1 Limited/Specialized based on current published curriculum.
STEM status 44 verified yes / 4 verify / 2 not STEM-OPT eligible “Verify” means MSITM.com has not confirmed the exact current program/delivery designation consistently enough to mark it definitive; it does not mean non-STEM.
U.S. News IS specialty alignment 28 aligned / 9 different-unit / 13 no listing across all 50 The ranked business-school Information Systems specialty is housed in, or closely aligned with, the academic unit offering the profiled degree. Different-unit rankings are kept in the crosswalk but not attached as the degree’s rank.
Head-to-head comparison pathway 50 of 50 profiles Every profile links to at least one direct school-to-school comparison. MSITM.com currently publishes 32 school-pair comparison pages, with some programs appearing in multiple relevant matchups.
Eduniversal direct program match 12 direct program matches across all 50 The ranked Eduniversal entry directly names the degree/program profiled by MSITM.com.

Why “covered” does not mean “the same statistic”

Universities report information differently. MSITM.com does not manufacture false consistency just to fill a spreadsheet.

  • Cost: a fixed $30,000 program total is different from $1,500 per credit or a university estimator. Profiles keep the pricing method visible.
  • Career outcomes: a six-month cohort employment report is stronger direct evidence than a list of employers or a national BLS salary. The evidence type is labeled.
  • Deadlines: a Fall 2027 final deadline is different from a recurring priority date or rolling application window.
  • Prerequisites: some programs expect programming and database experience; others explicitly welcome career changers and provide foundation courses.
  • Rankings: a business-school specialty ranking is not automatically a ranking of every technology master’s degree at that university.

Current research priorities

  1. Maintain 50-of-50 coverage for cost, career evidence, application timing and preparation/prerequisites as schools publish new cycles.
  2. Keep 2027 deadlines current as universities publish new rounds.
  3. Replace employer-only career evidence with cohort reports whenever schools release them.
  4. Normalize tuition into comparable planning ranges without hiding residency, delivery-mode or fee differences.
  5. Continue reviewing AI curriculum changes as GenAI and agentic-AI coursework evolves.

How to use this page

The coverage numbers are a transparency measure, not a school score. A program is not better because its university publishes more data. However, reporting quality matters when a student is comparing cost, career outcomes and admissions risk.
