Career evidence

BU MET publishes a current labor-market outlook for roles associated with the MSCIS—about $130,100 median annual salary across the referenced occupation set—but this is based on Lightcast/BLS market data, not a graduate-cohort starting salary or placement report. MSITM.com therefore treats it as a market signal rather than a program outcome.

Preparation & prerequisites

BU MET does not require applicants to arrive with a computer-science degree. All MSCIS students are assessed for three free, online, non-credit preparatory labs covering computer information systems, core mathematics and probability. Core programming/system-analysis courses assume either completion of the relevant lab, basic programming knowledge or instructor consent, so the program provides a structured bridge for students changing into IT.
