Master of Science in Information Technology Management (MSITM) programs are typically 30-36 credit hour programs, offered in a 1 or 2 year format, and can be take in-person or online. MSITM programs are almost exclusively STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) certified – which allows international MSITM graduates the option to apply for an additional 24 month extension of STEM Optional Practical Training (OPT) work authorization, following the standard 12 month OPT period for a total of 36 months.
Aspiring MSITM students should have strong quantitative skills and a basic to advanced knowledge of a computer programming language. GMAT scores of 700+ and GRE scores of 325+ are routinely needed to get admissions offers from top programs.
